Description
Arabidopsis thaliana is a small herbaceous plant. The leaves form a rosette at the base of plant with a few leaves on the flowering stem. The white inflorescences are arranged in a corymb. The fruit is a siliqua. Arabidopsis is most important model organism for studying plant science (1, 2, 3, 4). Arabidopsis genome has been the first plant genome sequencing (5).The Arabidopsis Information Resource ([link]http://www.arabidopsis.org/[ref]TAIR[link]http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/) provides genomic and molecular biology information that includes the complete genome sequence.

The Arabidopsis thaliana genome was sequenced in 2000 by the Arabidopsis Genome Initiative (AGI) (5). See TAIR-Genome Assembly.
