Currently the petunia is plant model in the flavonoid biosynthesis studies (1, 2, 3, 4). Another researches involving Petunia hybrida are floral development (5, 6, 7), transgene effects (8, 9), epigenetics (10, 11, 12), self-incompatibility (13, 14) and genetic maps (15).
